Ripley 4th of July Celebration
2013 Grand Parade Theme
- Details

To help commemorate this special year for our great state, the Parade Theme is “Celebrating West Virginia’s 150th Birthday!” The Ripley 4th of July Parade is the oldest in the state and almost as old as West Virginia. In the past, the Jackson Herald published a photo of the parade at Carson’s Corner (Main and Court) from the 1890’s. The Grand Parade for the Ripley 4th of July Celebration will kick off at noon on Thursday, July 4th.
The 4th of July Committee encourages parade participants to decorate their entries celebrating West Virginia’s heritage, scenery, workforce, or anyway to celebrate our state’s 150th birthday. West Virginia also has many men and women serving our country in the armed forces. Per capita, West Virginia has the most serving our country than any other state.
To enter the parade, fill out the entry form and send to the contact info on the form or go to www.ripley4thofjuly.us and click on the Parade Registration link to easily send your entry electronically. The Parade lineup begins at 10 a.m. at the entrance of Ripley High School the morning of the 4th. Parade entry deadline is Monday, July 1st at 4pm. If more parade information is needed, contact Parade Director Tracy Keefer at 304-373-5785 or email JLIB_HTML_CLOAKING . The Ripley 4th of July Committee would like to thank this year’s parade sponsors, Coventry Health Care of West Virginia and Jackson Newspapers. More info about these sponsors can be found at www.chcwestvirginia.coventryhealthcare.com and www.jacksonnewspapers.com.
